for everyone
I'm a big Sherlock Holmes buff (I've read ALL of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novels and stories featuring the brilliant detective and his sidekick Dr. Watson), so I'm looking forward to Guy Ritchie's film adaptation even more than Transformers 2, Harry Potter 6, or G.I. Joe. This trailer shows all the promise of a kick-ass movie, with a bad-ass Holmes played by Robert Downey Jr. and an unlikely Watson played by a suddenly-seems-cute-again Jude Law. The artist formerly known as Mr. Madonna seems to have given Holmes and Watson a makeover with his signature rough-and-tumble touch, and damn if it doesn't work.

PANO NAGING WATSON SI JUDE LAW??

Grabe, buong buhay ko naimagine ko si Watson as pangit. :))

EDIT: I just saw it! Whoa. Looks promising. I'm a Rachel McAdams fan. I'm excited!!

Actually in the books Watson was never described as "pangit" or even fat (in fact he was supposed to be physically fit), and he even ended up marrying a beautiful woman, so Jude Law is a pretty good choice for the role. :)

Same here!! I've loved her since Mean Girls, and became a certified fan when I saw The Family Stone. I think she totally kicks Anne Hathaway's ass in the promising-young-actress department!

I dunno, he seems all right to me. But I'll reserve judgment until I've seen the movie.

Besides, his wife's one of the producers. She convinced Guy Ritchie to cast RDJ in the role. :p

I've always imagined House (Hugh Laurie) as Sherlock. :D But I think the movie's gonna be unexpectedly cool. And may I just say, Mark Strong is sooo hot .

Trivia: the character of House is based on Sherlock Holmes. And Wilson is Watson. :) Robert Sean Leonard would have made a good Watson too, no?

Wow! I've been itching to see the preview and here you go posting it on Multiply for me. <3

I'm interested in seeing how Downy is going to pull Sherlock off. Jeremy Brett was pretty kickass in his portrayal in the Adv of Sherlock Holmes so I'm going to (undoubtedly) be hung over comparing Downy to him. Downy doesn't speak Sherlock right off the bat to me - might be because the impression I get from him is being a real ladies man and Sherlock is, for the lack of a better term, not. :P

The movie seems promising though - in the action/adventure side of it. Can't wait!

You're welcome. ;)

And funny but I've always gotten the impression from the books that while Holmes comes off as aloof, even cold, due to his cerebral manner and hard logic, it's that same intensity that makes him so... sexy. Haha. And I had my doubts about RDJ playing Tony Stark too, but he pulled that off brilliantly, so I'm hoping he'll do the same with Holmes.

That was never a question to begin with. Sherlock IS sexy. Period. <3 XD

Hasn't Trek been shown over there yet??

Sherlock is slated for release this December pa. If you're going to be in Manila for the holidays, you could catch it here... Metro Manila Film Festival schedule providing. Haha.
